Rita Q. Fuentes-Aguilar is currently a researcher at the National School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey, in Mexico. She specializes in biomedical engineering applications, from the design of new medical devices to control implementation. Her research is related to mathematical model identification and control of objects deformation, machine learning for prediagnosis, and the development of solutions in the medical area. Dr. Fuentes concluded her higher studies in Biomedical Engineering with honorable distinctions at the National Polytechnic Institute. She has a master's and a doctor of science degree with a specialty in Automatic Control from the CINVESTAV Center for Research and Advanced Studies. She has also been a researcher attached to projects sponsored by the National Council of Science and Technology and is a member of the National System of Researchers. Dr. Fuentes has one patent, 7 national patent applications, and 3 PCT, as well as 3 public copyright registries.
